The difference between single wire and stranded wire

If you deal with the subject of cables, sooner or later you will come across the terms wire and stranded wire. But what exactly is the difference and what are the advantages and disadvantages? This article takes a closer look at the main features of wires and strands and highlights the different areas of application and their advantages.

What it’s all about:
Wire and strand usually describe the inner conductor of a cable through which electrical signals are transmitted. In order to protect the signal transmission and minimise loss over distances, this inner conductor is protected with a sheath and …

D-Sub Cable Whip

A cable whip is a certain type of cable adapter, consisting of a multi-pole connector, which transitions into several lines, each with a single connector. Mostly we offer these adapters in combination with our breakout boxes.

The feed of several participants is done via the connectors of the box and is led together to one connector (e.g. D-Sub), so that all signals are led via the cable whip to the corresponding end devices. This may be, for example, a measuring device.

Such an adapter can consist of 2-10 single cables, whereby the limitation mostly results …

Pre-assembled cables on drums

For flexible use on site, we reel your ordered coaxial cables for you on a cable drum from the manufacturer Schill. Your advantage: the cable is safely stored and mobile. Whether one or several cables, we take care of all the work involved, such as bundling several cables or integrating your desired connection into the cable drum.

Variants of pre-assembled cable drums:

  • With a single cable or as a multi-cable
  • With / without rubber handle
  • With plug connector integrated in the cable reel housing
  • Cable length up to 100m

To maximize safety, we recommend having the reels fitted with cover

Coaxial Adapters

You can’t find the right type of connector for the type of cable that is essential for your application. Who hasn’t encountered this problem? You can easily overcome this challenge with our matching adapters. These help you to combine a wide variety of connector types so that you always have the right solution to hand.

Despite our high standards to provide all suitable connector types for every coaxial cable, it is unfortunately still possible that the availability of your desired connector on the market is limited. This is where our high-quality adapters from various manufacturers such as Telegärtner or

D-Sub Bausatz

D-Sub Kits

With the help of our D-Sub kits, you are guaranteed to achieve consistent high quality and spacing inside the housing, even with thin coaxial cables. They provide you with everything you need to make your own D-Sub adapter or cable whip.

Such an adapter can consist of 2-10 single cables, whereby the limitation mostly results from the diameter of the used cable type. 10 cables with a large diameter tend not to fit through the grommet of the D-Sub housing, so it would be advisable to use a thinner cable.

The circuit boards with optimized layout are …

Breakout Box BNC to D-Sub 37pol.

Our passive signal connection box is equipped with BNC sockets as well as a 37-pin D-Sub socket. By default, the signals are all passed on 1:1 to the pins of the D-Sub connector. Signals can also be transmitted over longer distances using a suitable connection cable. The common connection via the D-Sub connector enables the connection cable to be changed quickly without having to disconnect an individual BNC connection.

We offer our breakout box in various standard versions with 6, 8, 12 or 18 BNC sockets. The connection is made via a standard D-Sub female connector or according to customer
